I love flash as a technology. I love what you can do with it, the interface possibilities it opens up and the less restrictions it places on design. For a couple of years there it seemed every week saw the launch of a revolutionary new design/technique/interface that pushed at the boundaries. Sure they didn't all work but designers and programmers were trying new stuff and revisiting old from a new angle. It was all inspiring and thought provoking.
Now as the technology has matured it seems like people are not trying any more. I am including myself in "people". Just because the technology has settled down doesn't mean that designers have to stop pushing. When was the last truly jaw dropping flash site you seen? Where have all the dedicated Flash showcase sites gone? It seems like CSS and simplicity is the newer cuter baby and pushed flash out of the play pram.

Wow! I don't know where that rant came from! I only wanted to mention the new Mooble dating site from cork. All flash, fast, and impressive back end and interaction. Design isn't jaw dropping but suits the intended audience and its nice to see some new flash projects coming out.

Thanks to Brian O'Neill for the link.
